Tips for Juggling Multiple Projects

Mike Gunderloy has a great post up at Web Worker Daily with four tips to help you successfully juggle projects. In my opinion, his last tip is the most important: Don’t Go Dark. In fact, your client(s) should never have to ask you for status at all – you should proactively tell them where you are at more often than they would otherwise ask for it.

For software developers, adhering to an agile methodology, especially one that involves unit tests and simple-enough designs, pays off handsomely. There’s nothing like picking up a project you haven’t worked on in a few days, running 1,000 unit tests (successfully!), and getting reassurance that you aren’t going to unknowingly break anything when you start coding again.
