Liverpool 2-0 Fulham

Poor Fulham. I like Fulham, not least of which because they have more American players than any other EPL team, but they just seem like a character-laden team. No whiners, no floppers, just a bunch of football players.

Unfortunately their talent isn’t in keeping with their character, and they appear a sure bet for relegation this season. Yesterday’s match against Liverpool was actually way more one-sided than the score. Reina wasn’t seriously challenged in goal for nearly the entire game, pointing out one of Fullham’s three key weaknesses – the play of their strikers (midfield and defense are the other two).

Liverpool now has won 8 of their last 10 Premiership matches, which is great in terms of solidifying 4th place. They’re now 5 points clear of Everton after their loss to Chelsea. However, Liverpool’s weak midseason form ensures that they have no shot at the title (again). Let’s hope they bring out the fire Tuesday night against Chelsea in the Champions League semifinal!
