I have some friends at Sideways 8 Technologies who might be in trouble if Red Hat gets wind of their logo:
Why? Red Hat is going after the Data Portability Group for their supposed infringement of Red Hat’s infinity-ish logo. See Marshall Kirkpatrick’s and Allen Stern’s WTF?s here and here, respectively. I think the Sideways 8 team is OK because they don’t have the diagonal thing going on — although, to be frank, I’m not sure on what grounds you can go after someone for logo infringement. Should the math textbook publishers quake in fear?
This whole thing smacks of people with too much time on their hands. Red Hat should be improving their products, not going after these types of organizations.
Can the Facebook protest group be far behind?
