Barack Obama’s Results in the 36th

Following up on my caucus report from Saturday, I have a report from this morning’s Magnolia News which confirmed my anecdotal experience: Barack Obama won the 36th district 75 percent to 23 percent, according to Janis Traven.    The 36th district website has more vote results.

Turnout numbers were also approximately what I thought.  For the district as a whole, the 2004 turnout was 7,529.  This past Saturday it was 18,220, or about 2 1/2 times what it was four years ago during the height of Deaniac mania.

Great numbers all around.  Coming of yesterday’s sweep in the Potomac Primary, Barack looks – dare I say it? – unstoppable.  Hillary Clinton will have to do EXTREMELY well in Texas and Ohio in order to blunt this momentum he’s built up.
