SQL Server: WITH SCHEMABINDING Prevents View Deterioration

I just “discovered” a new option with SQL Server (2000+) that is a real helper when creating views. The option is WITH SCHEMABINDING and, when applied to a CREATE VIEW statement as follows, prevents the modification of the underlying table(s) – a great help in preventing accidental schema changes that might break your views!

Syntax example:

CREATE VIEW foo
WITH SCHEMABINDING
AS
SELECT name
FROM bar
GO

(h/t Troy Ketsdever for the inspiration)
