Liverpool 4 – 1 Portsmouth

A well deserved win for Liverpool, and one that partially washes the manure out of the mouth from the previous weekend. Torres looks better and better: confident, calm, well positioned, versatile. He’s not going to win too many physical challenges, but Newcastle has locked up most of those types of strikers anyway.

I wonder what the fans would consider to be the biggest reason for Portsmouth’s recent success:

  • Harry Redknapp?
  • Benjani Mwaruwari?
  • Sol Campbell?

I like the darkhorse Campbell. Since he’s come on board, Portsmouth have finished 7th and are now 5th in the league. Harry’s had some stinker seasons before that (13th and 17th). Benjani is a good striker — his goal yesterday against Liverpool was exceptional, perfect control and inside post on Reina — but I’ll still put my vote in Campbell’s corner.

What say you?
