Reading 3 – 1 Liverpool

A tough loss today for Liverpool.  It’s our first league defeat this season.  Reading is a knotty little team, tougher than you might think.  Last year’s eighth-place finish in the Premiership is no fluke.  They’re currently 12th in the table, but I can see them getting up to 8th again this year.

I can’t complain too much about the probably penalties against Torres that weren’t given.  We just didn’t play very well today.

First league loss for Liverpool has come at the perfectly wrong time. Liverpool was playing their best soccer in some years now before this defeat. It was the pressure of the match against Marsille did the favour for Reading.

Penalty given against Carraghar for a tackle outside the box won the match for Reading. Gerrard and Torres were excellent. Torres was denied a penalty. But it seems too negative approach from Rafa to see him giving up the game before 20 minutes. He substituted players like Torres, Gerrard and Carragahar which was for the match against Marseille
