Have you checked out Buzzword yet? You should. I was prepared for a yawner, but what I found was a very usable, nifty, eye-opening experience. It’s a Flash-based document editor, all in WYSIWYG mode, with support for embedded images, tables, lists, etc. Off the top of my head I didn’t see anything I normally use that WASN’T present.
Neatest thing? The “share” function. I’ve been burdened with SharePoint for the last couple years, which, as a collaborative document-editing system, ranks somewhere between carrier pigeon and dead drop systems. Let’s face it, document collaboration really doesn’t work very well on most platforms right now.
Not-so-neatest thing? The network effect. Until a lot of people use it, it won’t get the traction it might deserve.
On the other hand, it is almost too impressive to pass up.
